A huge storm just rolled in and blew our patio tabular array over. It shattered into about a one thousand thousand pieces. The deck is actually high, and I have NO idea where all the drinking glass went. In that location was a ton on the deck, and I'm sure a ton below, and some might have blown around.
How on earth practice I begin to clean this up? Our kids play back there constantly and it has to exist a GOOD cleanup. Has anyone dealt with this before? Who practice I call to clean something like this up?

I called a cleanup company. Definitely the way to go if this ever happens to you -- it was reasonable and they did an amazing chore.

I second a shop vac. My daughters took our glasses exterior once and knocked the table over. They broke all over the place. We used the shop vac, even on the grass. You just have to go slow and repeatedly. Plus no playing without shoes for a while.

I wouldn't go out at that place tonight. I would ensure that my children and pets do NOT become to the dorsum tomorrow either.
It depends upon what is Under your deck. I would put on some shoes and walk around IN A CIRCLE in the daylight with gloves on and option it upward. If its dirt or physical - information technology will be easy. If it's mulch or grass - information technology will exist dull. In that location actually is no easy way to exercise it that I know of.
You walk in a circumvolve so y'all can catch the sun glinting off of information technology. That'southward the easiest mode to spot it - walking effectually and around. Chances are, if you walk in a circle when you find one piece yous will most likely detect some other.
Bottom line? Gloves and Proficient shoes - not flip flops with a box not a purse (you don't want the glass to cut the bag and end upwardly with another mess).
GOOD LUCK!!

Happened to us 2 summers ago. Store vac cleaned up the vast bulk of it (ours broke all over our grass, which hadn't been cut in a LONG time).
If you don't have a shop vac, ask a friend or a neighbour to lend you one, or buy ane from Sears/Dwelling Depot/etc for $thirty-twoscore.
You'll be able to go a much better idea in the morning when you can see the debris. Merely leave there with close-toed shoes.

how nigh a shop vac?
Peculiarly on the deck this might work. Ive never tried information technology on grass, merely it could be a showtime. Kids need to wear shoes at all times and no rolling in the grass for now.

There are companies that do clean up/restoration later flood, fire, storm, mold damage, etc. They have all the latest equipment and know-how. If you don't want to go out there yourself, you could brand a few calls and go some quotes.

Get a company that does outdoor cleaning after storms to come out. OR get a shopvac and vacuum up an area around where the table broke. Get in all the nooks and cracks and crannies.
And just be sensible and vesture footwear in the area
